Can I really expect to receive the same quality as the Expensive Hair Replacement Clinics?

Compare our prices to the expensive hair clubs and salons. You can save thousands on your hair replacement systems by ordering from Hair Creations.
For over 20 years, we have been offering custom made hair replacement systems but at a fraction of the price of those of hair clubs. With us, there are no contracts to lock you in, and we guarantee our hair units. We also teach our clients how to maintain their hair pieces to keep their cost down – that’s why we have clients who have been with us for more than 20 years!

We provide the exact same high standard of system if not better at a price that is more affordable and manageable. With our quality hair systems and advanced techniques, we want to ensure our clients are well looked after and to make the whole process of wearing a hair system stress free.

Why should I choose a custom-designed hair system?

  • Natural look with a durable base
  • Extremely secure — will fit you exactly
  • Light-weight and ventilated for comfort
  • Choose your own hairstyle
  • Integrates perfectly with existing hair
  • Non-surgical with no side-effects or pain

Our custom-made hair replacement is tailored to your head shape and degree of balding. It fits perfectly, is made with 100% human hair and can be styled and coloured how you want. Our clients want natural-looking hair on an undetectable base, and our lace hair base is best for that. If you need something very durable, a conventional hair base is advisable.

Would anyone be able to tell I wear a hair system?

The short answer is no. As technology advances so do hair systems. Hair systems are now made from the finest quality material, which mimics your own hair and hair direction. Our hair stylist then create a seamless blend and cut which allows the system to look like it is your own hair.

Will it ever fall off?

No! As long as you replace the medical glue or tape as instructed (depending on the adhesive you’re using) every 4 – 6 weeks, the hair will be securely fixed and won’t come off without using the solvent release spray. You can wear your system without worrying at all about it coming off, even in gale force winds your system will stay on. If you’re extremely active you may need to complete maintenance sessions more frequently to ensure a secure fixing. Edges may begin to lift slightly as an indication a maintenance session is due.

Can I run / gym / shower or swim in it?

Yes! One thing we were passionate about was being able to do normal things while wearing our hair.
So here it is:

  • Swimming – Yes, you can absolutely swim in your system. However, salt water and chlorine are very harsh, so proper steps should be taken to protect your hair from damage prior to entering the water.
  • Gym – If you do an intense workout every day, heavy perspiration will break down your bond faster, which only means you’ll need to reattach more frequently. However, if you work out occasionally or don’t sweat much, it’s likely you won’t see a significant difference in the duration of your bond.
  • Shower – Yes, you can shower! Keep in mind that you shouldn’t get your system wet for 24 hours after attaching, and follow best practices when shampooing your hair.
  • Hats and helmets – Hats cause friction, which can cause breakage and premature shedding of hair. Wool knit caps and hard hats are usually the most damaging, but there are some hats that don’t cause as much friction. Read our article to learn how to mitigate this concern.

Your life won’t be drastically altered when you begin wearing hair. The purpose of a hair system is to give you the confidence to do all the things you want to do. As long as you use sound judgment and follow best practices when caring for your hair, wearing hair will be a positive and gratifying experience that adds fullness to your life.

What is the first step?

The first step is to schedule a consultation with a hair replacement center (Obligation free). The hair consultant will examine your area of hair loss and take your type of hair loss and lifestyle into consideration before making a recommendation.

How long will your Hair Systems last?

For the most natural and undetectable look, we use fine mono nets and skins that require more care. In conjunction with the fine nets, we use lace fronts, which create the ultimate in hair appearance. There is always a trade off between appearance and durability, so the heavier the mono net or the skin used the longer it will last, however the final look won’t be as natural looking at the fine nets or skins.

As a general rule our hair systems last 3 to 6 months or even much longer depending on the type of hair system you choose and how well you care about it.

How do I attach my hair system? Daily versus Extended Wear

Your choice will depend on how you want to wear your hair replacement, the base you choose and your lifestyle.

  1. Daily wear: If you want to take off your new hair everyday or every few days, you’ll need medical grade tape. This is the most popular choice, especially if you want to clean and reattach your hair replacement yourself. It’s easy and cost-effective, and we show you how.
  2. Extended wear: To wear your hair replacement for more than 1 week and up to 4 – 6 weeks, you need medical grade liquid adhesive or medical grade strong tape. We can advise. Because attaching your hair with liquid adhesive is tricky, many clients come to us to have hair serviced and rebounded, but we can also show you how to do this yourself.

I have difficulty getting used to the amount of new hair I have. Is this normal?

Perfectly normal, you have been used to having no or little hair. So it takes a little time to re-adjust to the new feeling of your new hair. It might take a few days or weeks to get used to. However, 99% of our clients get used to this change very quickly. It is not a problem if it takes you longer to get used to your new hair piece. The most important is that you feel good about it and makes a positive change in your life.

My friends are used to seeing me without hair. So, they will certainly notice my new hair piece, despite its natural look. Should I say nothing or tell them?

Some clients will prefer to be more open about it, others will want to keep it more private. There is not a right or wrong way. Some clients reason if they are open, there may be a reaction in the beginning and based on experience your friends are most likely to say that you look so much younger and happier with your new hair, and want to know why did not do it sooner! So don’t be afraid. And if you want to keep it private, your friends may only notice how well you are looking.

What type of adhesive is used? Will it pose a risk for those with sensitive skin?

Our Hair Consultants use a variety of adhesives. Which one they use will depend on the type of application, the base materials of the chosen hair system, and the wearer’s lifestyle and scalp chemistry.

How long will the adhesive tape or bonding last on my hair replacement before it needs renewing?

It is difficult to say as it will depend on the following factors: – Your lifestyle – the condition of your scalp – and the method of attachment of your hair replacement. Note: for hygiene reason, no hair replacements should stay on the scalp longer than 6 weeks, especially during summer time when it’s hot and one has a tendency to sweat or perspire more. In fact, we recommend to keep it for 4 to 6 weeks maximum for extended wear and then have it serviced it.

I have problems making the adhesive tape stick to my scalp.

It may be you need to use a stronger tape. If you have an oily scalp or if you have just washed / shampooed your scalp it may still be damp. Gently dry the scalp with a soft towel or a hairdryer on low heat. Then re-apply your adhesive tapes. At Hair Creations, we show our customers how to maintain their hair piece, use the right tape, how to attach it to their scalp and looking after their scalp. It is easy and some of our customers like to look after their hair piece themselves.

Maintenance sessions (Re-grooms)

We advise on average that you remove the hair piece to clean and replace the adhesive every 4-6 weeks. This can sometime vary depending on how active your lifestyle is, the more active the more frequently a maintenance session is advised – 3 to 4 weeks.

The Hair Consultant will gently remove your hair system and clean your scalp, before re-applying. The time and process will depend on the individual client and the method of application. And it does not hurt!

Keeping up the best possible appearance means you probably need to buy more than one hair replacement system per year. Because our hair systems are so affordable, our clients choose to have more than one, so they can service one and wear one, or have a back-up in case one is accidentally damaged. This gives them great peace of mind.

Can I do the re-groom myself?

Yes, we encourage every client to learn how to complete the maintenance themselves in the comfort of their own home. Each maintenance session will take between 30-45 minutes. Take control of your hair back!

Will it damage my natural hair?

No, all our adhesives are medically treated and skin safe, allowing your scalp to breath and not affect natural hair growth or increase the rate of hair loss.

How do I shampoo my hair replacement? Do I need to use a conditioner?

There are many products on the market for all types of skin and hair which are not suitable for your non growing hair. We can explain in more details what will be suited to you. We have a line of professional care products that our clients use with very good results. We also advise that you do not scrub the hair. As there is no natural oil reaching the hair from your follicles it does not get greasy. Scrubbing causes the hair to dry out quicker and can cause matting. Combing through conditioner is advised to keep the hair fresh with occasional shampooing. We also advise using a leave in conditioning spray to supply moisture throughout the lifespan of the hair.

Can I use styling products?

Yes you can, we advise using lightweight water based products gels and hairsprays to hold shape. Avoid heavy duty waxes and always ensure if using any products that you wash / wet the hair before trying to comb it out.

My new hair piece seems to have lost colour. Is it normal?

All human hair will lose colour due to ultra violet lights as well as sunlight. This is normal. We re-colour your new hair with its back to natural hair colour product line or show you how to do it yourself.
